About the artist:
Born in 1950 in Gdańsk, Poland. 1971–1976 Studied Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. In his artistic work he is concerned with the materiality of the wood. Cut, fracture, split are terms that determine his creative career. In 1998 he was winner of the 1st prize at the Salon de Printemps '98 in Luxembourg. Commissions for the construction of two memorials: "In memory of the deportees of Warsaw Uprising in 1944 in Neuengamme Concentration Camp in Hamburg" and "In memory of the forced labourers in Hamburg-Bergedorf in the Second World War“. His works are presented in numerous private and public collections including the Sculpture Center in Orońsko, the Museum of Modern Art in Radom and the National Museum in Szczecin in Poland. Participation in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including the Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven in Germany, the Museum of Modern Sculpture in Orońsko, the XV. and XVI. Sculpture Triennial in Poznań and the Municipal Gallery in Gdańsk.
