About the artist:
I’m interested in how complexity emerges from simplicity.
My work is developed from numbers, with no shape or colour. The visuals emerge when the computer translates the numbers into colour and light.
I start from the basic topology of matrices and build up complexity using layers of simple mathematical functions.
Algorithms and mathematics are often associated with rigid, predictable structures. The Interference series uses patterns that are easy to read and yet evade full understanding to explore the process of creating and controlling complexity.
All my works are only printed once.
I grew up in Italy and moved to London 15 year ago, where I live with my family. My greatest passions in life are coding and software architecture, which I have been doing professionally for 20 years, most recently as engineering manager at Apple.
