From the memory and surrounding nature, she finds her expression and contemplation through her freely moving brush. Recalling the fluidity of formless traditional Eastern landscape painting, unconscious and liberating act of Abstract Expressionism, in company with the emotional and balladic elements of Romanticism, her painting is exploring and expanding the openness through the accumulated process of covering and wiping layers of paint with her own gestural shapes. Kim states, “I hope to paint my personal imagery and that my feelings themselves could be embedded with the medium by my hand.”
