Music is my inspiration. I immerse myself in sound. Color worlds emerge in direct translation from sound to color, from rhythm to line. An image arises to the music without a pre-defined concept, the brush guiding me across the canvas.
My studio is located in the center of Weimar. This is where the abstract, large format works on canvas are created: loose color pigments are combined with self-mixed egg tempera and water and applied to the canvas with wide flat brushes. Besides working in the studio, I am performing with musicians on stage.
The series of three paintings shown are created to the music of Aziza Mustafa Zadeh, a jazz pianist and singer from Azerbaijan.
