More than two decades ago I immersed myself in abstract painting as an autodidact. I began experimenting with acrylics, oils and a variety of materials on canvas, laying the foundation for my artistic path.

I mainly use the palette knife technique. It is now my most important tool. In the beginning, abstract painting was mainly a helpful way to process and express emotions.

The fact that I was free to develop as an artist without external influences helped me to find my own style. As I gained experience, my style became more complex. In many paintings I find myself in a frenzy of energy that is immediately transferred to the canvas. But there are also moments of deep relaxation that inspire me to be creative.

My artistic activity gives me the feeling of forgetting everything around me for a while. Painting has become an increasingly important part of my life in recent years. In the last few years I have been able to create impressive large format paintings that have expanded my artistic vision on a large canvas and challenged my skills. Many of these paintings are now in private and public collections.

By not giving titles to my paintings, I want to give the viewer the freedom to experience their own emotions and thoughts, uninfluenced by their own interpretations.

I was born in August 1971 in Wiesbaden, Germany. I am married and have two grown-up children.

In 2014 I completed my training as an Arts Consultant for older people and people with dementia. I have been successfully working with older people for almost ten years with group art programmes, individual support, art projects and exhibitions. Art therapy bereavement counselling, hospice volunteering and lecturing on art in old age and dementia complete my portfolio. Abstract art in combination with my palette knife technique opened up an opportunity for creative expression when working with older people

Emotions and encounters serve as an inexhaustible source of inspiration in the midst of my artistic creative world. It is the subtle nuances of human feeling that awaken in me a colourful palette of expressive possibilities.
