“ Stefano Paulon’s research stems from industrial design and the study of technical drawing, developed on paper or other supports, reaching an artistic-creative production that’s completely original, expression of an innovative stylistic footprint. Paulon is able to look beyond the usual functionalities of the material used by him, transforming his artworks into the medium through which he expresses a concept, which is the real essence of contemporary art. Hence the use of concrete is pushed beyond the banal collective imaginary, which sees it linked with the industrial and structural sector and is enriched with meaning. The artist discovers the infinite expressive potentialities of this poor material, always on the quest for new plastic shapes of grand communicative value. From the industrial production to art, concrete is assembled into simple geometrical and symmetrical combinations, which act with the space in a eurythmic dialogue between light and shades, underlining the conceptual component of the structure. Artworks rationally studied, which re-propose the matrix of the number nine and its multiples, in a string of mathematical reasoning of great fascination. To strengthen the cognitive depth of these works, the use of the colour grey is quintessentially associated with the industrial development and modernity, but also chosen, from a functional point of view, as a welcoming colour, which is well-balanced with other chromatic combinations, and is able to suggest a suspended and neutral dimension ”

Stefano Paulon (Cernusco Sul Naviglio, Milan – 1963) is an artist, author and designer.

He has an academic background and professional experience in the industrial and marketing sector, and his interest in art pushes him towards a subjective study of art history and literature.

From the drawing to the lines that envelop the analysis of the human figures and the development of complex geometrical structures, he subsequently shifts his focus on the designing of interior decor  and the production of architectonic concepts for private and public spaces.

Later on his expressive language leads him to the treatment and shaping of surfaces, to the multidimensional composition, installations, and their dialogue with the surrounding environment.

Contemplation, sensibility, abstraction, spirituality, and silence all amalgamate in his own personal minimalist vocabulary, which alludes to the analysis and the relation between solids and voids, positive and negative, material and immaterial.

In 2019 he started the gathering, configuration and cataloging of all documentation and the research and experimentation work with the aim of creating catalog raisonné and an archive.

His works have been exhibited in private and public locations in Italy and other countries.

Lives and works between Milan, Como and Finale Ligure.
